South African authorities have apprehended a 45-year-old man in connection with the triple murder of his wife and two daughters in the UK.
The victims, identified as Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, Natalie, 15, and Nala, five, were discovered deceased at their family residence in Great Denham, near Bedford, on Monday.
Police confirmed that Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, a Zimbabwean national, departed the UK through Heathrow Airport two days prior using a British passport. However, he was arrested on Friday in Kensington, Johannesburg, after an international manhunt. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has since authorized three counts of murder against him.
South African police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe emphasized that the arrest sends a clear message: “We will trace you, we will find you, and we will arrest you.” She added that the country will not serve as a refuge for individuals suspected of serious crimes.
