
On Tuesday, thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across South Africa, demanding the departure of undocumented foreign nationals. The protests follow a weeks‑long campaign that forced many to flee and resulted in four fatalities. Police deployed heavily to maintain order as citizen‑led groups enforced an informal June 30 deadline for undocumented migrants to leave.
