South Korea’s top financial regulator will launch a program for cornerstone investors in IPOs aimed at curbing steep price declines after listings.

The Financial Services Commission said that institutions committing to lock‑up periods of at least six months will qualify for advance share allocation under the new regime, which received government approval on Tuesday. The regulations will become effective on Nov. 13, coinciding with amendments to the capital markets law.
