Soybeans are trading with gains of 2 to 3 cents at midday. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was up 20 1/2 cents at $12.53 3/4. Soymeal futures are down $2.80 to $3 on the day, with Soy Oil up 6 points. There were no delivery notices on FND for September beans, with 261 deliveries for September meal and 800 for September bean oil.
USDA reported a private export sale of 159,000 MT to an unknown destination this morning for the 2026/27 marketing year.
USDA’s FGIS tallied soybean export shipments at 250,801 MT (9.22 million bushels) during the week ending August 27. This was 41.7% below the prior week and 49% lower than the same week last year. Mexico was the top destination with 53,896 MT, followed by Algeria (43,299 MT) and Egypt (42,394 MT). For the 2025/26 marketing year, exports now total 40.744 million metric tons (1.497 billion bushels), which is 18.2% below the same period last year.
Commitment of Traders data from the CFTC shows managed money added 46,592 contracts to their net long position in the week ending August 25, bringing the total net long to 198,254 contracts.
Key futures and cash prices: Sep 26 Soybeans at $12.73½, down 2¾ cents; Nearby Cash at $12.51¼, down 1 cent; Nov 26 Soybeans at $12.90¼, up 2¼ cents; Jan 27 Soybeans at $13.05¾, up 3 cents; New Crop Cash at $12.31½, down ¼ cent.
