Sports Update: Bears Finalize Key UFL Player Signings
The Bears have officially confirmed the acquisition of UFL experienced players Kaden Davis and Tony Fields II. The team announced the developments on Tuesday, pairing these moves with waivers for linebacker Dominique Hampton and kicker Gabriel Plascencia.
Field’s spring season with the Columbus Aviators included 77 tackles, five tackles for loss, and a significant sack, earning him All-UFL recognition. Originally drafted as a fifth-round pick by the Browns in 2021, Fields has spent five seasons in the league. He appeared in 45 games during his time with the Browns and managed 10 starts.
Kaden Davis entered the NFL as a fifth-round selection of the Browns in 2021, played for the Houston Gamblers, and returned 10 kickoffs for 275 yards. He has had brief stints in other leagues, including short appearances with the Broncos, Cardinals, Lions, and Browns. Davis’s only recent NFL runs were three games with the Browns, during which he returned four kickoffs for 135 yards.
