British wrestler Charles Crowley has discussed the viral success of his character, Biddy Blas, in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer launched earlier this month, allowing players to compete in high-speed races across the Star Wars galaxy.
The game is described as “a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim.” According to the official description, “With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is created: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged.”
Players can select from an unlockable roster of 19 characters. While the lineup includes film favorites such as Sebulba and Ben Quadinaros, Biddy Blas has emerged as an instant fan favorite. Inspired by one of the game designer’s “very angry” dogs, the character was designed to channel pure rage while embodying both a sore loser and a sore winner.
A particular grumpy encounter with Biddy Blas has gone viral. In an attempt to intimidate players in his native tongue, Blas declares, “Here’s a name for you, amateur! Biddy Blas. Write it down. Tattoo it on your arm, and someday your arm will be worth millions.” Instead of “write it down,” Blas says “scrib doon,” a phrase that has sparked countless memes.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Charles Crowley, the voice actor behind Biddy Blas, addressed the character’s sudden popularity. “I thought he might become popular because of the work we put in, and I was truly proud of him,” Crowley said. “Then, on day one, it took off. I thought, ‘Oh great, everyone is happy,’ especially Star Wars fans, who are so passionate. ‘This is a big win.’ And then I went to sleep.”
“When I woke up, it was an entirely different story,” he continued. “Not only the Star Wars community, but the wider gaming world and beyond, had gotten incredibly creative with countless memes. I was drowning in Biddy Blas memes.” He described the experience as “overwhelming.”
