Legendary former India captain Sunil Gavaskar praised Samson’s approach and consistency after the game. He highlighted how Samson builds his innings before accelerating, noting that openers in T20 cricket receive the majority of strike and therefore the most scoring opportunities. “It’s sometimes the consistency you want, and because the openers get most of the strike in a 20‑over game, they have the most chances to score.
