Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Nasir Rizvi announced on Sunday that the suspect responsible for the fatal shooting of a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) officer was apprehended within nine hours of the incident.

During a press briefing, IGP Rizvi detailed that the suspect opened fire while attempting to assault a woman he encountered during an altercation. PAF Group Captain [Name] intervened to assist the woman, who was reportedly dragged toward the suspect’s motorcycle, resulting in the officer being shot.

According to police, the suspect and the woman were both employed at a cash and carry establishment in Islamabad’s G-6 sector. The victim, a group captain affiliated with a cosmetics company, was performing official duties at the time. The suspect represented a frozen food brand at the same outlet.

Rizvi recounted that the incident occurred after the suspect attempted to take the woman to a park following her shift. She declined and sought to return to her workplace for an inspection of her stall. When she resisted, the suspect halted the motorcycle at 9th Avenue. A confrontation ensued, escalating when the group captain, en route to Rawalpindi on official business, intervened upon noticing the disturbance. The suspect then fired, fatally wounding the officer.
