Looking back fondly, I recall my twenties as a time of teenage creativity that sometimes felt cringeworthy. In my thirties, that chapter feels magical and exhilarating. Before my 2024 wedding, I sat in a cubicle with my best man, bassist Cavan McCarthy, at my stag party. We cried together about everything we had accomplished, a conversation we had never held before.
Had you roped any of your musical friends into performing at your wedding?
No. While we have previously performed in wedding bands for friends, it is often a demanding task. Yet, during the reception, everyone took to the decks. My wife is half‑Irish, so I hired a traditional Irish group to play. I deliberately avoided an Oasis cover band, even though it would reflect my heritage.
Had you ever crossed paths with Oasis?
We once encountered Liam Gallagher outside a Pizza Express in Camden during our hippie phase, when Cavan was sporting a large poncho. Liam made a snide remark, “Yo, psychedelic, dude!” which we appreciated.
