Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai and defender Milos Kerkez became embroiled in a heated altercation in the final moments of their UEFA Nations League clash against Ukraine.
With Hungary pressing desperately for an equaliser at the Puskás Aréna, tensions escalated in stoppage time.
Szoboszlai and Kerkez at centre of late confrontation
The incident occurred in the 94th minute following a series of late challenges and time-wasting incidents.
Szoboszlai clashed with Ukraine forward Viktor Tsygankov, drawing both players and coaching staff members into the fray.
Kerkez immediately entered the melee after witnessing his captain and Liverpool teammate surrounded by opposition players.
Both Liverpool players received yellow cards as the referee worked to restore order.
Ukraine’s Oleksandr Nazarenko was shown a second yellow card during the disturbance and sent off, reducing the visitors to 10 men.
The altercation overshadowed what had otherwise been a tightly contested Nations League encounter.

Hungary denied by late Ukraine goal
Despite dominating possession at home, Hungary could not breach Ukraine’s defence.
Ukraine struck in the 42nd minute when Danylo Sikan converted Heorhiy Sudakov’s precise pass.
Hungary pushed for an equaliser after the break but failed to create clear-cut opportunities.
The result leaves Hungary searching for points in their Nations League campaign, while the late confrontation involving Liverpool stars Szoboszlai and Kerkez provided the match’s defining moment.
