The final four competitors in the League of Legends Esports World Cup are T1, Karmine Corp, Gen.G Esports, and Dplus.
They secured victory in their Friday quarterfinal matches in Paris, earning spots in Saturday’s semifinals. With two more wins, they can claim the $2 million championship prize.
The playoffs began Friday and will culminate with Sunday’s best‑of‑five grand final. The champion receives $600,000 and 1,000 EWC club points, while the tournament MVP earns an extra $25,000.
On Friday, T1 defeated Hanwha Life Esports 2‑0, Karmine Corp swept AG.AL International 2‑0, Gen.G eliminated JD Gaming 2‑0, and Dplus edged Bilibili Gaming 2‑1. The remaining teams were eliminated.
T1 dominated its matches in 23 and 35 minutes, both on the blue side. South Korean player Kim “Peyz” Soo‑hwan led the squad with 16 kills, only two deaths, and 18 assists.
Karmine Corp defeated AG.AL in 28 and 38 minutes on the blue side. French player Caliste Henry‑Hennebert posted an 11‑1‑14 kill‑death‑assist ratio.
Gen.G bested JD Gaming in 28 minutes on blue and 38 minutes on red, delivering a balanced performance. South Korean players Kim “Canyon” Geon‑bu contributed nine kills, while teammates Kim “Kiin” Ki‑in and Jeong “Chovy” Ji‑hoon each added eight.
Dplus won in 39 minutes on blue, responded to Bilibili’s 35‑minute victory on red, and secured a 38‑minute win on red. South Korean player Jeon “Siwoo” Si‑woo led with 14 kills, and teammate Oh “Career” Hyung‑suk recorded a match‑high 29 assists.
The Esports World Cup includes competition across 25 titles and a $75 million prize pool. This month also features events in DOTA, PUBG, EA Sports FC, Call of Duty: Warzone, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Rocket League, Counter‑Strike 2, and Fortnite.
