Residents of a Hong Kong housing estate damaged by a major fire, who spent months awaiting an extraordinary general meeting, are now pressing for clear answers on compensation and the condition of their homes.
Hop On Management Company, the government-appointed administrator of Wang Fuk Court, held the meeting with flat owners on Sunday to review matters such as the handover progress from the previous incorporated owners and the current status of Wang Chi House.
The block was the only one of eight towers not destroyed in the blaze that claimed 168 lives last November.
The gathering was streamed live to community centres in Tai Po, Tin Shui Wai, Kai Tak and Wah Kwai.
Toby Wong, a resident in his thirties from Wang Tai House who attended the session at Tai Po Community Centre, said he was disappointed that some resident-proposed agenda items had been left out after what he described as six months of waiting for the meeting to take place.
