Talk Talk to Celebrate ‘The Colour Of Spring’ 40th Anniversary with Special Half-Speed Vinyl Reissue

Talk Talk has announced a special 40th-anniversary reissue of their acclaimed third studio album, ‘The Colour Of Spring’, featuring a half-speed master.

The announcement comes just ahead of the band’s upcoming one-off anniversary performance. ‘The Colour Of Spring’ represents a pivotal moment in the band’s evolution, signaling their transition from synth-driven new wave toward a more complex, experimental art-rock sound.

Following the successful half-speed reissue of ‘Spirit Of Eden’, drummer Lee Harris and Charlie Hollis—son of the late Mark Hollis—have reunited to oversee the production of this new release. The reissue was cut by Matt Colton on 180g vinyl at Metropolis Studios. The album is scheduled for release on September 4. The tracklist is as follows:

To celebrate the milestone, surviving members of Talk Talk will reunite for a special anniversary show. On September 5, the lineup will feature founding keyboardist Simon Brenner alongside Phil Ramocon and Ian Curnow, performing at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.

The performance will include support from Sophie Barker (Zero 7), Gale Paridjanian (Turin Brakes), Tim Eisenburg (Sweet Billy Pilgrim), Chris Hampson, and Jacob Brown. The evening will also feature guest appearances from Ed Harcourt, Fyfe Dangerfield (Guillemots), and Ride’s Mark Gardener.

The band’s frontman, Mark Hollis, passed away in February 2019 at the age of 64.
