Target is recalling more than 200,000 pairs of children’s sandals following reports that decorative elements can detach, creating a serious choking risk.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday that approximately 211,000 Cat & Jack Toddler Girls’ Sequerah Sandals are affected by the recall.
“The sandals’ decorative pearls can fall off, posing a risk of serious injury or death from a choking hazard,” the CPSC stated.
The recalled footwear features a tan design with two raffia straps, gold buckles, and plastic pearls. The brand name is printed on the soles and bottoms of the shoes. They were sold in toddler sizes 5T through 12T.
The sandals were available at Target stores nationwide and on the retailer’s website from January 2026 through May 2026 for approximately $20.
Target has received 23 reports of pearls detaching from the sandals.
No injuries have been reported to date in connection with this recall.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled sandals, keep them away from children, and contact Target for a full refund.
