A law enforcement official familiar with security plans confirmed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce intend to hold their wedding at New York’s Madison Square Garden this Friday.
The ceremony will begin with a rehearsal dinner on Thursday, the official added, speaking to the Associated Press under conditions of anonymity because she was not authorized to make public comments.
Speculation surrounding the high‑profile couple’s wedding has intensified in recent days, after weeks of unverified reports that the event would occur over the Fourth of July weekend at a landmark venue in New York.
This week, crew members have been dismantling equipment outside Madison Square Garden; a large carpet was briefly revealed at one entrance before being removed.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed the plans, despite repeated requests for comment from The Associated Press, including a query last Wednesday.
During a Wednesday press briefing, New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed the department was monitoring an event at Madison Square Garden scheduled for Friday but declined to disclose additional details.
“The NYPD will of course have a detail in place, but I’m not going to go into more specifics at this time,” Tisch said.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed that a permit had been filed for a sizable event. “We are fully prepared,” he remarked. “There isn’t anything else to share at this point.”
