Taylor Swift took the stage last evening at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala, a Los Angeles fundraising event supporting the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The acclaimed singer-songwriter delivered a live premiere of her The Life of a Showgirl track “The Fate of Ophelia,” along with performances of “Blank Space,” “Love Story,” and “I Knew It, I Knew You” – the original composition she wrote for Toy Story 5 earlier this year. Conan O’Brien introduced Swift’s performance. Both O’Brien and Swift contributed to Toy Story 5, with O’Brien providing the voice for the film’s potty training device Smarty Pants. “It’s an insane, unprecedented honor to introduce a cherished member of our little Toy Story 5 family,” O’Brien remarked. “She’s John, Paul, George and Ringo all in one. Taylor Swift.”
This performance comes on the heels of Swift’s release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, an expanded version of the 2025 album containing four additional tracks. Earlier this month at the MTV Music Video Awards, she unveiled the music video for “Patient Zero,” featuring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, where she received the inaugural Artist Director Honors and Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia.” These releases represent Swift’s first new musical output since her wedding to husband Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in July.
