Terence Crawford will be ringside to watch Errol Spence Jr.’s highly‑anticipated return fight against Tim Tszyu.

The bout marks Spence’s long‑awaited comeback following a three‑year absence. The former unified welterweight champion has not fought since his only professional defeat—a ninth‑round stoppage by Crawford in their 2023 undisputed showdown.

Now 36, Spence will move up to a 158‑lb catch‑weight, having teamed with renowned trainer Ronnie Shields after ending his long‑standing partnership with Derrick James.

Tszyu arrives in far more active form. The Australian has rebounded from consecutive defeats to Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev, stringing back‑to‑back victories. He will aim to leverage the home‑crowd advantage.

In an interview on The Porterway Podcast, Spence’s former rival confirmed he would attend and stated he has already informed Tszyu of his support.

“I’mma be supporting Spence, rooting [for him]. I just like to support fighters … Of course [I’m picking Spence to win]. I told [Tszyu] to his face.”

Spence has admitted that he contemplated retirement during his hiatus and may consider it again after the fight, regardless of the outcome. Fans will keenly observe how his performance fares after such a prolonged layoff, especially given the injuries, lifestyle setbacks, and serious car accident that previously cast doubt on his future.

The contest is scheduled for July 25 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, with Jermall Charlo and Stephen Fulton slated for the undercard.
