The Houston Texans made two roster moves involving players on their injured reserve list on Wednesday, per the NFL’s transaction report for July 1.
Both defensive back Ajani Carter and linebacker Xavier Thomas were waived with injury designations, making them eligible to sign with other clubs if they go unclaimed.
Carter appeared in two games for the Texans last season, contributing 36 special teams snaps. The undrafted player out of Houston previously spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Thomas, a 2024 fifth-round selection by the Arizona Cardinals, recorded 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble across 18 games with Arizona before joining Houston.
