Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan is among 147 club officials suspended for 45 days by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) for breaching betting regulations.
The sanctions follow an announcement in September that 448 individuals had been provisionally suspended and referred to the TFF’s professional football disciplinary board over allegations of betting while holding official positions.
TFF regulations, along with FIFA and UEFA rules, prohibit players, coaches and match officials from participating in betting activities.
The TFF stated that the individuals concerned had held positions at clubs in Turkey’s top two divisions during the previous five years.
Of the 448 cases reviewed, 147 resulted in 45-day suspensions, while the remaining 301 were dismissed because there were insufficient grounds for disciplinary action.
The suspensions form part of a broader crackdown on betting within Turkish football. In November 2025, a TFF investigation led to bans for 149 referees and 1,204 players.
