SET to ease IPO requirements; SGX taps Nasdaq partnership
August 24, 2026 06:12 JST
In response to the growing momentum of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, both the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Singapore Exchange (SGX) are adjusting their strategies to attract more technology-focused initial public offerings (IPOs).
The SET has announced plans to relax its listing requirements for technology companies, aiming to streamline the process for innovative firms seeking capital on domestic markets. This shift reflects broader regional efforts to position Southeast Asia as a competitive hub for tech investment amid global shifts driven by AI development.
Meanwhile, the SGX is strengthening its international footprint through an expanded collaboration with Nasdaq, leveraging advanced market infrastructure and listing frameworks to support high-growth technology enterprises across the Asia-Pacific region. The move underscores Singapore’s ambition to reinforce its status as a leading financial technology gateway.
Both exchanges emphasized their commitment to fostering innovation while maintaining robust governance standards. These initiatives signal renewed confidence in Asia’s capital markets as destinations for next-generation growth sectors.
