The-Dream, the acclaimed songwriter behind hits for Beyoncé and Rihanna, who is currently facing a lawsuit alleging rape, sexual battery, and sex trafficking from a former collaborator, has confirmed the release of his upcoming album. (The-Dream has denied the allegations raised in the 2024 suit.) The artist’s own label, Radio Killa, together with Universal’s Republic Records, will issue the follow‑up to his 2007 record Love/Hate on July 10. Featured on Love/Hate II are Pusha T, Swizz Beatz, T.I., Kelly Rowland, Rick Ross, and, on the newly released single “Tampa,” Usher.
The-Dream first hinted at his return in a May interview with Variety that did not reference the allegations or the ongoing litigation. The case, initiated by Dutch singer‑songwriter Chanaaz Mangroe after alleged abuse spanning several years in the mid‑2010s, remains active in California’s District Court, with the-Dream’s legal team recently filing motions to extend the discovery deadline.
