The Last Dinner Party has released a new single, “Knocking At The Sky,” which can be streamed below.
The track appears on the deluxe edition of the London band’s second studio album, From The Pyre (2025), which debuted today (Thursday, July 9).
Abigail ആഘ Morris and the band first performed the song live at London’s O2 Academy Brixton in December and have since made it a regular part of their setlist, most recently showcasing it at Madrid’s Mad Cool festival on Wednesday, July 8.
“Knocking At The Sky” is described by the group asGiven certain…“I…de look into the context of the band releasing a final track within a larger narrative. In crafting an album centered on storytelling and world‑building, they felt itاقة to conclude the tale with a story set in the mythic, sinister atmosphere of Los Angeles.”
The single marks the last track recorded with producer Animesh Raval at Crouch End’s Church Studios. A companion music video, directed by Sinclair Bryant, showcases the band’s stylised LA, paying homage to classic cinema.
“The visuals pay tribute to Hollywood noir sirens, the scream queens of slashers and skin‑flicks, and the underground world of John Waters,” the band added.
The deluxe edition also includes the 2026 single “Big Dog” and the spoken‑word piece “Come All You Beasts.” Listen to the full album here.
Last weekend, the group opened for Wolf Alice at a sold‑out show in London’s Finsbury Park.
They will tour Latitude and Wilderness this summer and later support Sombr and Olivia Rodrigo in the United States throughout the remainder of the year and into 2027.
NME reviewed the band’s performance at Mad Cool, noting that it left fans eager for a במשה “substantially more satisfying next course.”
The publication praised the original From The Pyre album as a “darker, more accomplished return,” rating it four|get stars and calling it “as deliciously dramatic as their 2024 debut Prelude To Ecstasy,” and highlighted the group’s evolving imaginative depth.
The band described the latest album as an “end‑of‑the‑world” record, built around the surreal, euphoric, and destructive emotions of being part of a band over the past 18 months.
More recently, Morris collaborated with Lucia & The Best Boys on the single “Big Romance.” Earlier this year, The Last Dinner Party contributed the track “Let’s Do It Again!” to the WarChild charity compilation Help(2).
