XRP continues to trade beneath the $10 mark nearly nine years after initial forecasts emerged. Historical pricing data and an expanded circulating supply provide essential context for this enduring price target.

As of September 24, XRP was trading around $1.50, still falling short of the $10 benchmark that had already surfaced in community forecasts during the 2017 bull run. Nearly nine years later, the digital asset’s documented peak remains under $4 on both CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.

Double-Digit XRP Forecasts Originate in 2017

A December 23, 2017 thread on Reddit’s r/Ripple forum detailed scenarios where XRP could surpass $10. The discussion focused on expanded exchange access, heightened trading volume, and prospective adoption by financial institutions and enterprises.

Within that thread, a user named CryptoInvestor87 predicted XRP would hit $10 by December 2018, deeming the estimate conservative. Other participants disputed the lofty projections and questioned the speculation surrounding corporate adoption. Consequently, the thread captured both optimistic expectations and skepticism within the same market cycle.

These forecasts followed significant price appreciation. Ripple’s fourth-quarter 2017 markets report documented a 29,631% annual increase in XRP’s price and an 887% gain during the final quarter. The report noted that XRP surpassed $1 on December 21 before climbing further.

However, Ripple also drew a clear distinction between corporate partnerships and actual XRP utilization. The report explicitly noted that the American Express/Santander announcement and a Korean banking initiative highlighted during the quarter did not involve the token.

XRP to $10: 2026 Price Forecasts

Below are several 2026 XRP to $10 predictions from prominent influencers.

1. Ash Crypto — Reported September 23, 2026

Ash Crypto has incorporated a $10 XRP target into his latest market outlook, alongside forecasts of $250,000 for Bitcoin, $10,000 for Ethereum, and $1,000 for Solana. He linked these targets to an anticipated market-wide bull run but did not specify when XRP would reach double digits.

2. Crypto Cup — September 22, 2026

Crypto Cup issued a separate $10 XRP forecast on September 22, alongside targets of $5,000 for Ethereum, $450 for Solana, and $5 for Sui. The trader connected his outlook to what he identified as a breakout in the altcoin market. His chart tracked cryptocurrency market capitalization excluding the ten largest assets, rather than XRP alone. He also left the targets without a deadline.

None of the XRP to $10 Predictions Materialized

The $10 XRP target was already circulating in 2017 and continues to appear in 2026 forecasts. Yet, as of September 24, 2026, none of those predictions has materialized. CoinMarketCap records XRP’s all-time high at $3.84, leaving the double-digit milestone unmet nearly nine years after those early forecasts.

The $10 Target Now Implies a Larger Market Capitalization

XRP’s circulating supply has also shifted since the original forecasts.

CoinMarketCap recorded approximately 38.74 billion XRP in circulation on December 31, 2017. Its current figure stands at approximately 62.88 billion XRP, representing an increase of around 62.3% between the two snapshots.

Applying a $10 price to these supply figures yields different valuations. The 2017 circulating supply would have implied a market capitalization of approximately $387.4 billion. At today’s supply, the same token price would imply approximately $628.8 billion.

The calculation assumes the circulating supply remains unchanged. Market capitalization measures token price multiplied by circulating supply; it does not represent the amount of new capital that would need to enter the market. Consequently, the larger valuation describes the scale of the $10 scenario, rather than indicating whether or when it will occur.
