Visitors can also secure exceptional value through Marriott Bonvoy points, making it an ideal weekend getaway away from the bustle of downtown Dallas.

Located a 20- to 30-minute drive from downtown Dallas, the property isn’t suited for those prioritizing proximity to the city center. However, its setting offers distinct advantages.
The resort spans a vast tract of land, formerly a family ranch, now featuring the hotel, an athletic club, a golf course, and multiple swimming pools. For city exploration, a separate Ritz-Carlton in Dallas proper may be preferable.
I visited in May 2026 for a Dallas BBQ tour and was invited to stay for three nights. While my accommodation and activities were covered, all insights remain my own.
Inside the property’s $65 million renovation
Longtime North Texas residents might recall this property under its former name. Rebranded as the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas in 2024, it underwent a $65 million renovation. The yellow-brick exterior was preserved, but the interior was modernized, including room updates that marked a significant improvement over its Four Seasons days.
The vast lobby showcases Bar Juniper, a new addition featuring a striking cotton flower chandelier. The space blends indoor and outdoor areas with cozy alcoves, offering refuge from Texas heat.
The sprawling outdoor pool, a major draw, highlights the property’s family-friendly appeal. Early arrival is recommended to secure a spot during peak times.
The best way to book: Marriott points
Marriott Bonvoy points provide exceptional value for stays at this Ritz-Carlton. Dynamic pricing in July 2026 ranged from 52,000 to 89,000 points nightly, plus a $47 daily resort fee. Compare this to cash rates of $500 to over $1,000; even at NerdWallet’s 0.8-cent point valuation, many stays exceed 1 cent per point in value.
For extended stays, Marriott’s “Stay for 5, Pay for 4” benefit enhances savings significantly.

Spacious rooms with plenty of seating
I experienced the spacious poolside villa with a king bed, but also viewed the standard room in the main tower. The latter offers a separate couch, ample space, and a private balcony.
Bathrooms feature Diptyque amenities and classic tubs, a rarity in upscale hotels. Villas provide expanded space, including outdoor seating areas like the fireplace-tinged patio. Housekeeping exceeded expectations with attentive touches like restocking supplies and organizing luggage.
Several on-property dining options
Dining choices include Aire Libre (poolside), Bar Juniper (lobby), Knife Italian Steak, and Campo Coffee & Provisions. Knife Italian Steak delivers an upscale ambiance and exceptional dry-aged steaks, while the club offers all-day dining including inventive options like poke bowls.
Knife Italian Cafe doubles as the breakfast venue, and seasonal offerings like botanical teas at Bar Juniper add local flair.
The Ritz-Carlton Club is a worthy paid upgrade
Adding the Ritz-Carlton Club ($275 weekdays, $325 weekends when pre-booked) provides all-day lounge access with complimentary food and beverages. This upgrade is advisable for on-property-focused stays, offering both convenience and quality.
The most extensive health and wellness facilities I’ve seen at a hotel
The Nelson, adjacent to the hotel, provides an expansive fitness hub with indoor/outdoor pools, courts, a golf course, indoor track, and group classes. Combined with the hotel’s own pool, guests enjoy unparalleled recreational options.
Guests can also indulge in Ritz-Carlton Spa services, including access to sauna, steam room, and plunge pools. Non-guests may need a fee for facility access.
A great staycation, far from the city
This property excels as a staycation destination, offering ample on-site activities. While ideal for local visitors, tourists should consider more central Dallas locations for convenience.
NerdWallet values Marriott points at 0.8 cent per point, with many stays exceeding this valuing metric.
