A New Delhi court ordered the release of three leaders from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), including founder Abhijeet Dipke, following their detention on Saturday, their lawyer confirmed.

Legal representative Ratna Singh announced their release via social media, identifying the detainees as Abhijeet, Saurav (Das), and Ashutosh (Ranka).

The individuals were arrested preemptively on Saturday in connection with planned demonstrations targeting the country’s election commission chairperson.

Public assemblies have escalated over recent weeks after allegations surfaced regarding irregularities in the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) nationwide voter registration update process.
