Three Sindh Rangers personnel were martyred on Saturday following a terrorist attack on a paramilitary facility in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, according to the Sindh Inspector General of Police.

IG Javed Alam Odho stated that preliminary reports indicate three terrorists were also killed during the engagement at the local Rangers headquarters.

Law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene after reports of heavy gunfire and an explosion emerged in the locality. Specialized units, including the Rapid Response Force and police commandos, were deployed to secure the area.

Police and paramilitary forces have cordoned off the surrounding vicinity. While specific casualty counts for civilians have not yet been confirmed, rescue teams are currently on-site managing the situation.

Rescue 1122 Sindh confirmed they dispatched teams from their central command-and-control center following reports of an explosion near Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 5. Chief Operating Officer Dr. Abid Jalaluddin Sheikh was also deployed to the site following directives from the Chief Minister’s Adviser on Rehabilitation and the Director General of Rescue 1122 (Sindh).

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken formal notice of the incident near Mosamiat Chowrangi. He has requested a comprehensive report and instructed the Inspector General and Karachi’s Additional IG to ensure immediate action is taken to investigate the nature of the attack.

Additionally, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar has sought an urgent, detailed briefing from the Additional IG regarding the developments in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.
