Three‑time NASCAR Truck Series champion Matt Crafton retired after the 2025 season, concluding a career that spanned 592 starts and yielded 15 victories.

The 50‑year‑old will return to competition this weekend for the 2026 Truck Series finale at Homestead‑Miami Speedway, stepping into the No. 66 ThorSport Racing entry in a surprise comeback.

ThorSport will field a fifth driver for the event, joining Ben Rhodes (No. 99), Jake Garcia (No. 98), Ty Majeski (No. 88) and Cole Butcher (No. 13). The team has struggled this year, securing only one win with Garcia at Bristol, while Majeski holds the highest points position in fourth but is mathematically eliminated from title contention.

Crafton debuted full‑time in the Truck Series in 2001 and contested the championship each season through 2025. He captured the title in 2013, 2014 and 2019, though he went winless in his final three seasons.

In addition to his Truck career, Crafton recorded three Cup Series starts and four O’Reilly Series appearances, but the Truck Series remained his primary battleground for nearly 25 years.

Homestead holds personal significance for Crafton, who won a Truck race there in 2015.
