Thunder Rosa may be departing Busted Open Radio following SiriusXM’s rebranding of its wrestling channel to WWE Radio.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that AEW’s Thunder Rosa is expected to leave Busted Open. She has served as a rotating co‑host but has appeared infrequently recently, with only a birthday‑shout‑out call to host Dave LaGreca this month.
Meltzer wrote:
- Thunder Rosa has appeared on the program, yet she is absent from recent press releases, and insiders believe she will not return. Given that the show will now be under WWE’s control, it seems unlikely that an AEW performer could remain on the roster.
Pro Wrestling Nation 24/7, SiriusXM’s wrestling channel, will officially rebrand as WWE Radio starting next Monday, July 27. Busted Open will remain a cornerstone of the lineup alongside programs hosted by Sam Roberts, Peter Rosenberg and others. WWE Radio will also provide original commentary for every WWE premium live event, audio simulcasts of Raw, SmackDown and NXT, and will carry WWE’s podcast catalog.
Busted Open maintains that its tone will remain unchanged.
LaGreca, the primary host of Busted Open, stated yesterday that the show’s tone will not shift despite the WWE partnership, emphasizing that WWE wants the program to retain its original character.
“It means the absolute world to me that we have grabbed their attention and now they’re a part of our family. And they want us to be the way that we’ve always been,” LaGreca said. “They don’t want to change us. When we have to be critical, we’ll be critical. When there’s praise, we’ll praise. That’s what, with this foundation of what we’ve always done, that’s not going to change. But now we have so much more.”
It remains unclear how the rebranding will affect conversations about non‑WWE promotions. Co‑host Bully Ray noted that the show will cover topics beyond WWE, but he did not specify whether AEW will be included.
