The weekly initial claims figure is set to be released at 8:30 a.m. during “Squawk Box” with Becky Quick, Joe Kernen, and Andrew Ross Sorkin. The Dow Jones consensus estimate stands at 207,000 claims. According to prediction market site Kalshi, 72% of participants expect the number to exceed 200,000, while 22% anticipate a reading above 210,000.

Take-Two Interactive Annual Shareholder Meeting
Video game publisher Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, is set to hold its annual shareholder meeting Thursday. The event comes amid anticipation surrounding the long-delayed release of “Grand Theft Auto VI,” now scheduled for Nov. 19. TTWO shares are down 17% so far this year. “Grand Theft Auto V” launched on Sept. 17, 2013, when TTWO was trading at $17; the stock closed Wednesday at $211.81, representing a gain of over 1,100% since then. However, the stock has fallen 14.5% over the past 12 months and is roughly 20% below its July 7 high of $265.94. CNBC’s Julia Boorstin will be monitoring the meeting for developments.
Software Sector in Focus
HubSpot and Intuit are both hosting investor days Thursday. HUBS is down 41% year-to-date but has rallied 29% over the last three months. INTU is down nearly 52% year-to-date, though it has gained 13% in the same recent period.
The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF (IGV) has been volatile, currently down 0.69% for the year despite a roughly 12% gain over the past two months. Among the notable gainers within IGV over the last three months are Atlassian (up 116%), Docusign (up 58.5%), and Salesforce (up 55%). On the other end, TeraWulf is down 45%, Core Scientific has fallen nearly 40%, and AppLovin is off 36%. CNBC’s Seema Mody will be following these developments.
