TNA Impact Live Results: Mustafa Ali Returns to Defend International Title Against Trey Miguel and Jason Hotch

For the first time since August’s Lockdown, Mustafa Ali will return to action on tonight’s live episode of TNA Impact from San Antonio, Texas. The reigning International Champion will put his title on the line against two challengers and former champions in Trey Miguel and Jason Hotch.

The next challenger for TNA Knockouts TV Champion M by Elegance will be determined in a four-way with Gabby Forza, Elayna Black, Harley Hudson, and Jada Stone.

Elijah will continue his feud with The System as he goes one-on-one with Eddie Edwards.

Jeff and Matt Hardy will appear as they try to figure out who attacked them backstage in separate incidents.

A tag team match between The Righteous and BDE & Rich Swann rounds out the announced action. Our live coverage begins at 8 pm Eastern.

It’s Thursday, and the show opens with a recap of the mysterious attacks that have been happening backstage. Leon Slater, Moose, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Ryan Nemeth, and others have all been found knocked unconscious in really weird positions. Who’s behind it? Detective Matt thinks he knows, and the culprit’s last name rhymes with Shmemeth.

The show formally opened with #1 Contender to the World Title, Leon Slater, who is a victim of an unconsciousing. Slater has a date with Nic Nemeth over the world title at Bound For Glory, but tonight he just wants to have a chat.

Slater reminded us that he beat Ryan Nemeth last week, only to get hit in the face by Nic with the World Title belt. Slater said that it was sad how far Nic has fallen, and every week he sees Slater getting better, which makes him nervous. Slater emphatically stated he could beat Nemeth and asked if they should maybe do the match tonight?

Nic Nemeth’s music hit, and he came to the top of the entrance ramp, mic in hand. Nemeth said that he’s not even a little afraid of Slater and said that even though Slater has a bright future, he’s still the World Champion, and Ryan is going to become X-Division champion at Bound For Glory. When that happens, the Nemeths will be running TNA (maybe forever).

As Nemeth called Slater dumb, Ryan slid into the ring behind him. Slater then said that it was funny that even though he’s “dumb,” he knew Ryan was right behind him. That started a brawl of the pull-apart variety. Nemeth and Slater fought off security and then started hammering on each other, resulting in the appearance of Director of Authority, Santino Marella.

Santino said that from this very moment, until Bound For Glory, Slater and Nemeth are forbidden from laying a finger on each other. If they don’t comply, Nemeth will be stripped of the title, and Slater will lose his title shot. Santino provided some clarification, saying they could talk at each other, but NO TOUCHING, or the match was off.

The scene switched to Detective Matt in the back, espousing his “Two Mysterious Attacker Instead of Just One” theory. Matt said that the attacker(s) made a mistake by not finishing off the Hardys. Jeff then returned and said that he will never forget being attacked. Matt said that in one hour, he and Jeff will be in the ring, and they will be demanding that the attacker(s) reveal themselves.

Back from break, Daria Rae was texting someone, and Indi Hartwell wandered up to tell her no one is afraid of her. Hartwell said that Rae is a bully and a “bad person.” Rae told her to walk away, and Hartwell called her a joke. Rae then slapped Hartwell, who smiled and said “got ya!” Then Santino was revealed to have been filming the encounter on his phone and surmised that the board might like to see the footage.

Bound For Glory X-Division Championship Qualifying Match: KJ Orso vs Ryan Nemeth

The first match of the night was, well, this one. Orso has previously challenged for the TNA International Title, and Nemeth is the younger brother of TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth. The winner of this match joins the field vying for the X-Division title at Bound For Glory.

They locked up, and Nemeth immediately started goading Orso. He grabbed Orso in a waistlock, but Orso got out of it and armdragged Nemeth to the mat. Orso sent Nemeth to the corner for a crossbody and then hit him with a Fisherman’s suplex for a two count.

Orso targeted Nemeth’s arm, but Nemeth sent Orso through the ropes and hit him with a neckbreaker on the outside. Nemeth pulled Orso back into the ring and put him in a chinlock. Nemeth threw Orso to the mat and started posing. He then whipped him into the corner and made an arrogant cover attempt.

Nemeth sent Orso face-first to the mat and stomped him. He fishhooked Orso until the ref made him stop. Orso came back with a dropkick and then a moonsault off the ropes. He went for the KJ Clutch and dropped Nemeth on his head with an Orso Driver. He went for another Clutch, but Nemeth backed him into the corner and hit a DDT for a two count.

Orso hit a suplex and then a spinning springboard into the KJ Clutch, but Nemeth was able to turn him over to force a two count. Nemeth sucker punched Orso and then sent him into the post. He hit a Hollywood Ending, and that was it. Ryan Nemeth heads to Bound For Glory.
