TNA Wrestling Revises Lockdown Schedule for August 23 Sunday
Lockdown, TNA Wrestling’s signature event in which every match takes place inside a steel cage, returns on Sunday, August 23. The pay‑per‑view will broadcast live worldwide from Credit Union 1 Arena in downtown Chicago, marking the promotion’s first Lockdown since 2016 and its inaugural appearance at бүт the historic venue.
UPDATED LOCKDOWN TIME SCHEDULE:
3 p.m. CT – Doors open at Credit Union 1 Arena, Chicago
4 p.m. CT – Lockdown pre‑show begins
5 p.m. CT – Lockdown main card starts
The 2026 Lockdown is TNA’s first live event at the venue formerly known as the UIC Pavilion, an on‑campus arena steeped in pro‑wrestling history.
Full match card details will be announced in the coming weeks. Confirmed participants include Jeff & Matt Hardy (The Hardys), Nick Nemeth, Mustafa Ali, Moose, AJ Francis, Brian Myers, Leon Slater, Ricky Sosa, and other talents. The Knockouts Division will also be prominently featured, with Xia Brookside, Elayna Black, Indi Hartwell, Rosemary, Allie, and more scheduled to compete inside the cage.
TNA debuted Lockdown in 2005, pioneering the first pay‑per‑view where all contests occurred within a steel cage. The event quickly became one of TNA’s flagship annual shows, alongside Slammiversary and Bound for Glory. Its inaugural card featured A.J. Styles vs. Abyss and introduced the Lethal Lockdown match, TNA’s version of WarGames, where two teams enter sequentially and the cage remains sealed until all competitors are inside. Notable Lockdown main events over the years have included Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle, Sting vs. Mick Foley, and multiple Lethal Lockdown spectacles.
TNA ran Lockdown annually from 2005 to 2016, with the final event held at Wembley Arena in London. The 2026 Chicago edition marks the event’s long‑awaited return.
