Today’s Wordle Hints & Clues: Thursday, August 27
The official starter word for today is SLATE. My personal starting choice is STARE (with 120 words remaining). The puzzle hint identifies the word as relating to gemstones and specifies that it features a double letter. After attempting various guesses, it was determined that SLATE contained the correct letter (‘L’).

Today’s Wordle Etymology
“Uncut” derives from un- (not) + cut, tracing back to Middle English cutten, meaning “to cut or divide.” Literally translating as “not cut,” the term has evolved into specialized meanings such as unedited film, uncut gemstones, and anything left whole or unaltered.

Weekly insight is key to my guessing strategy. For a deeper analysis of my performance, you can evaluate my Wordle score using Wordle Bot right here
STARE served as a reasonable opening word, but the puzzle significantly reduced my remaining options to just two. Unfortunately, I failed to consider UNCUT until it was too late. Initially, I suggested BLUNT, whereas the successful choice was SLATE, as the “L” in either word satisfied the clue perfectly.
