The Toronto Blue Jays have observed several of their top prospects make notable progress this season, but none have generated as much excitement recently as 19‑year‑old shortstop JoJo Parker.
Selected in the first round of the 2025 draft, Parker has steadily improved his production and is currently enjoying his strongest offensive month, posting a .296 average in 15 June games.
His overall minor‑league line stands at a .248 batting average, .378 on‑base percentage, and .813 OPS, with seven home runs, 38 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases in 58 games.
Recent power surges — including a game‑tying three‑run homer in the eighth inning and five homers in his last nine contests — highlight his emerging ability to handle professional pitching.
These performances have sparked speculation that Parker may soon earn a promotion, potentially taking over the franchise shortstop role from Bo Bichette.
Although the Blue Jays have not officially announced a call‑up, they are content to let him continue developing at Single‑A while his strong stretch of play makes a compelling case for an early promotion.
Parker was also selected to represent the Blue Jays at the upcoming All‑Star Futures Game in Philadelphia.
The Dunedin Blue Jays confirmed on X that Parker is headed to the Futures Game, underscoring his rising status within the organization.
