Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in acquiring West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville during the summer transfer window.
The Dutch international is widely expected to depart West Ham following the club’s relegation from the Premier League to the Championship, and he has also been the subject of transfer speculation involving several other major clubs.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jacobs named Manchester United among the potential suitors for Summerville, while warning Tottenham supporters not to anticipate a repeat of the remarkable recent 24-hour spell in which the club twice broke its transfer record to sign Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.
Crysencio Summerville emerges as a target for Tottenham
Addressing Tottenham’s recruitment plans, Jacobs indicated that a winger is the next priority, with Summerville considered one to monitor alongside Manchester City’s Savinho.
“Spurs fans are saying, ‘Why are we so quiet?’, because they were so busy!” Jacobs said.
“But it’s not a break your club transfer record every single day like they did in 24 hours from Mateus Fernandes to Sandro Tonali. But they’re working their way up the field. It’s fair to say so.
“The goalkeeper situation is sorted because Kinsky is extended, and Dubravka has arrived. Defenders have come in, midfielders have come in, and now Tottenham, as a priority, want a starting left-winger or attacker.
“Savinho talks (are) ongoing, but he’s not the only target. Crysencio Summerville, Manchester United and most recently Roma are there as well.”
Tottenham require a productive transfer window
After two consecutive difficult Premier League campaigns, Tottenham would benefit from continued investment and squad reshaping.
Despite the club’s Europa League final triumph in 2024/25, they have recorded back-to-back 17th-place finishes and must improve in the upcoming season.
Bringing in the likes of Fernandes and Tonali represents a significant statement under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, and the addition of a high-quality attacker such as Summerville or Savinho would further strengthen the squad.
We’ve also been informed that Cody Gakpo is another leading Tottenham target in that position, though none of these moves currently appear to be progressing rapidly.
