Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a late move for AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic as head coach Roberto De Zerbi seeks to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window closes.
The 27-year-old United States international has surfaced as a possible alternative to Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, who has also drawn interest from Manchester City.
Spurs have invested heavily in their forward line this summer, yet the club continue to explore opportunities to add another versatile wide player ahead of the deadline.
USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino previously singled out Pulisic for praise, describing him as “one of the best players in the world.”
Tottenham Make Enquiry for Christian Pulisic
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have made an enquiry over Pulisic’s situation at AC Milan.
The former Chelsea winger is among several attacking options under consideration, with Spurs having previously monitored Gakpo.
However, Liverpool’s reluctance to part ways with the Netherlands international has made that pursuit increasingly difficult.
Tottenham have now made surprise enquiries about Pulisic ahead of the deadline, with several other clubs also understood to be monitoring his availability.
Fitness adds another layer of uncertainty. Pulisic only returned to Milan training in August after sustaining an injury during the United States’ World Cup campaign.
He was absent from Friday’s 2-0 Serie A victory over Venezia as Milan continued to manage his recovery.
Pulisic a More Realistic Option Than Gakpo
From Tottenham’s perspective, Pulisic represents an understandable alternative.
He is already familiar with the Premier League from his spell at Chelsea, capable of operating on either wing, and offers the direct running and technical quality that De Zerbi demands from his attacking players.
The principal concern remains his fitness.
Spurs would need to be fully convinced that Pulisic is close to returning to peak condition before committing significant funds this late in the window.
That said, the deal may be far more attainable than a move for Gakpo. Liverpool have rejected Manchester City’s £80 million approach and are now expected to retain the Dutch forward, leaving Tottenham with virtually no room to negotiate.
Pulisic could therefore emerge as one of the more realistic late opportunities available.
He may not be considered an essential acquisition given that Spurs have already added Savio and Omar Marmoush, but his versatility would further strengthen an already formidable attacking unit.
