A Hong Kong taxi driver lost his life and two passengers sustained injuries in a head‑on collision involving a bus on Hiram’s Highway in Sai Kung.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:47 p.m. on Saturday near Pak Sha Terrace, when the taxi crossed the central median and collided with the front of a KMB Route 92 bus traveling opposite towards Clear Water Bay, according to police.
Rescue personnel extracted the 64‑year‑old driver, who was unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle. He was transported to Tseung Kwan O Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
A 50‑year‑old male passenger was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital, while a 47‑year‑old female passenger, who momentarily lost consciousness, was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Yau Ma Tei.
The bus driver escaped injury and remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
Online images depict the taxi with its front and side severely damaged, and scattered debris across the roadway.
