Authorities report one death and over 15 injuries following a suspected car crash during Saturday’s Pride event in Tiergarten Park. The incident, which occurred near the march route, forced organizers to suspend the gathering hours after its start.
Police stated the vehicle entered the park’s central area, striking multiple individuals. At least 17 people were hurt, with some facing critical conditions. A distress call on X urged attendees to evacuate the site immediately.
An abandoned car was discovered at the scene in Tiergarten, a forested district marking the parade’s endpoint. Officials are actively searching for the driver or drivers involved.
Superintendent Florian Nath, police spokesperson, emphasized the urgency of the investigation via X, while officers illuminated the area between Potsdamer Platz and the Tiergarten tunnel to collect evidence, as reported by a dpa journalist.
Emergency crews treated the wounded at the location. The full extent of injuries remains under assessment.
