One of the fastest rising stars in WWE right now, Trick Williams, recently shared a reality check about his wrestling career.
Since defeating Sami Zayn at WWE WrestleMania 42, Williams has reigned as the United States Champion. In a recent interview with Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated, he explained that he does not request main event spots but instead proves his worth through every opportunity.
“My job since entering the business has always been to seize every opportunity and make each segment feel like the main event, the most important part of the show,” Williams said.
“I aim to deliver consecutive strong performances so that my case for a main event spot becomes undeniable. I’m not asking for anything; I’ll demonstrate why I deserve it. I let the conversation speak for itself and won’t beg for the opportunities I believe I merit.” [H/T TheTakedown on SI]
At 32, Williams expresses gratitude for being alive and emphasizes the importance of proving oneself at every chance.
