U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of ending the Ukraine conflict and expressing readiness to assist in resolution efforts, according to Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov cited by Russian news agencies.
During the call, Trump informed Putin that negotiations to resolve the ongoing tensions with Iran were close to finalization, with Putin expressing satisfaction over the potential conclusion of hostilities, Ushakov said.
Putin also marked Trump’s 80th birthday with an informal greeting during their conversation, according to the Kremlin spokesperson.
