US President Donald Trump has announced plans to establish an “AI Force” and appoint a new artificial intelligence “czar.”
The president detailed the initiative via a Truth Social post, a conservative social media platform, though no specifics about its structure or timeline were disclosed.

The announcement coincides with intensifying debates over AI development risks, following incidents involving rogue AI agents breaching security protocols. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei recently urged policymakers to moderate AI frontier development, a stance endorsed by OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Elon Musk’s xAI.
Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and Trump countered such caution, dismissing warnings as “doomsday narratives” during a CBS News interview where Huang stated, “2030 is not the end of the world—there is zero percent chance of that.”
The initiative precedes Trump’s upcoming China visit for an AI dialogue aimed at establishing communication channels between the world’s two leading AI economies. The president has consistently opposed throttling AI progress, arguing restraint would allow China to overtake U.S. innovations.
Trump labeled public concerns about AI as “hoaxes” while defending data centers as assets benefiting their host communities. He pledged, “We will not in any way hinder or stifle the growth of this incredible industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it as it grows!” Emphasizing AI’s transformative potential, he added, “This will be the next industrial revolution—possibly larger and more impactful than the Internet, potentially contributing 25% of our GDP.”
Another AI Czar Role?
Trump’s latest appointment echoes his previous attempts at AI governance. David Sacks, a venture capitalist and podcast host, held the position since Trump’s return to office before stepping down in March. His successors, Colin Burns and Chris Fall, faced instability—Burns lasted four days before dismissal, and Fall resigned after four months.
The new appointment signals an effort to recalibrate the administration’s AI strategy, with Trump demanding exceptional qualifications from candidates, stating, “Only high IQ individuals need apply!”
