President Donald Trump has publicly urged a formal debate between Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democratic challenger state Representative James Talarico, as their contested race for the U.S. Senate gains momentum.
In a post published Wednesday evening on Truth Social, Trump criticized Talarico’s lack of engagement in the campaign, writing, “Ladies and Gentlemen, upon information and belief, James TalaFREAKo, who is running for the United States Senate in Texas, is MISSING IN ACTION!” He further insisted that the Democrat appear on a debate stage immediately, noting that Paxton remains “ready, willing, and able.”
