US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he is “immediately” barring CNN, MSNBC, and Politico from the White House, marking the latest escalation in his fraught relationship with major American media organizations.
In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump accused the outlets of “constantly writing or reporting fiction or lies” about his administration, though he provided no specific examples to support the claim.
The scope and enforcement mechanism of the ban remain unclear, including whether staff members from these outlets would be prohibited from entering White House grounds.
The decision is expected to face legal challenges from the affected outlets and press freedom advocacy groups.
