Trump says his planned triumphal arch will double as a military complex to store ammunition

“Trump shared on Truth Social that his planned triumphal arch is designed to serve a dual mission, operating simultaneously as a ceremonial monument and a military complex dedicated to storing ammunition.”

Construction on the 250‑foot arch, which is slated to rise across the Potomac River away from downtown Washington, began construction this month.

An earlier rendering illustrates the final design features a golden, winged Lady Liberty perched atop the structure, flanked by two metallic eagles, with the inscriptions “One Nation Under God” and “Liberty and Justice for All” carved in gold along either side. From ground level to the tip of the statue, the arch reaches a total height of 250 feet.

At this scale, the monument would exceed the familiar silhouette of the Lincoln Memorial and reach approximately half the height of the Washington Monument, instantly becoming a dominant landmark in the cityscape.
