WASHINGTON, Sept 28 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump said that American officials had been in discussions with mediators on Monday aimed at ending the conflict with Iran, and that the United States would achieve victory “very soon.”
“We’re going to win, as far as I’m concerned, it’s going to be one way or the other,” Trump remarked from the Oval Office. “It’s going to go pretty quickly.”
Trump also indicated that gas prices would fall sharply once the U.S. secures victory in the conflict.
