President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 32 percent, marking the lowest point of his political career, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll. The decline comes as Republicans increasingly disapprove of his management of the cost of living and the ongoing conflict in Iran.
The four-day survey, concluding Sunday, revealed that 73 percent of Republicans approve of Trump’s job performance, a significant drop from 82 percent a week prior. His overall approval rating stood at 35 percent in the previous poll.
Trump returned to the White House in January 2025 pledging to curb inflation and end foreign wars. Shortly after his inauguration, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed his approval rating at 47 percent.
Only 17 percent of respondents in the latest poll approved of his handling of the cost of living, which remains the top issue voters say will influence their choices in the November 3 midterm elections. Republicans are currently defending slim majorities in Congress.
