Real Madrid’s Bellingham shone brightly, especially when facing familiar opponents who tested him, as his performances often rise under pressure.
“He thrives under that pressure,” England manager Tuchel explained. “He gets better if that happens.”
“I think sometimes he seeks those moments to ignite his drive,” Tuchel added. When questioned about Bellingham’s fiery exchange with Real Madrid teammate Marc Cucurella, Tuchel emphasized: “He doesn’t distinguish between teammates when representing the national team. He wants to win. He’s still friends with them, but not during the 90 minutes.”
Bellingham’s contributions helped England push for a late equalizer against Spain, forcing a save from Unai Simon, and earned him a second consecutive England Player of the Year award.

Tuchel aims to start the 23-year-old in upcoming fixtures and expects him to maintain his dynamic style. “It’s the only style he can play—that’s just his game,” Tuchel said. “We’ll manage his workload carefully. I’d love to see him on the pitch for all four matches, but we’ll assess his condition with the physios first.”
The team departs for Prague on Monday after the 3-2 loss to Spain, with four Nations League games in 11 days. Tuchel acknowledged the challenge: “I’d prefer not to rotate, but it may not be possible. My ideal would be a core group of players who can handle the load.” He added, “The focus is on winning each match.”
Tuchel, unperturbed by the rigorous schedule, stated he has no plans to coordinate with Premier League managers about player minutes. “I never take calls from club managers. It’s not my role. As a former club coach, I knew this dynamic—it doesn’t work cross-nationally. I won’t let players question their roles. This matters. We’re focused on winning.”
