Twenty One Pilots Tops Billboard Vinyl Albums Chart With Live Record

Twenty One Pilots’ ‘More Than We Ever Imagined: Live in Mexico City’ debuts on five Billboard rankings, led by a No. 1 opening on the Vinyl Albums tally. The alternative duo returns to the Billboard charts this week with a new live album, More Than We Ever Imagined: Live in Mexico City. This collection accompanies the recently released film of the same name, adding to the group’s commercial success following a massive concert run in Mexico and a box office triumph.

More Than We Ever Imagined enters the Billboard rankings across five different categories. Upon its debut, the record secures a spot in the top 10 on multiple charts, even propelling the Grammy-winning artists back to the top spot on one specific tally.

Returning to the Summit

The collection makes its debut at number one on Billboard’s Vinyl Albums chart, a ranking dedicated solely to the bestselling vinyl titles across all genres in the United States. This marks the band’s fifth chart-topper on the tally, joining previous leaders Blurryface, Trench, Clancy, and Breach.

Of those five number-one entries, only Blurryface managed to hold the top spot for longer than a single week, dominating the vinyl chart for a full two weeks.

A History of Vinyl Success

Throughout the band’s career, nine of their projects have appeared on the Vinyl Albums chart. Only one of these releases—an EP titled Location Sessions—failed to break into the top 10.

Every other project either reached the pinnacle or peaked at number three. Vessel, Blurryface Live, and Scaled and Icy all reached a peak of third place, while the band’s remaining vinyl releases briefly topped the national charts.

A Week of New Vinyl Releases

The Vinyl Albums chart consists of only 25 positions, nine of which are occupied by brand-new debuts this week. Alongside Twenty One Pilots, newly released projects by Weezer, Brandon Flowers, and Stella Lefty also secure top 10 spots. Meanwhile, new entries from Insane Clown Posse, The Cramps, Kiss, Sophie, and Staind launch on the ranking, all landing below the top 10.

Securing Another Top 10 Placement

The duo also secures a top 10 debut on another Billboard chart this week. More Than We Ever Imagined enters the Top Album Sales chart at number five, driven by nearly 15,900 pure sales. This total encompasses vinyl, CD, and digital download purchases. The act has now accumulated 11 entries on the sales-only tally, with seven of those reaching the top 10.

Expanding Chart Presence

More Than We Ever Imagined also debuts on three additional Billboard rankings. The live set enters the Top Rock Albums chart at number 12, the Top Rock & Alternative Albums tally at number 13, and the Billboard 200 at number 50.

The group has previously charted on the Billboard 200 and the larger rock albums list with 11 projects, but this latest release earns the band a milestone tenth number-one entry on the Top Rock Albums ranking.

Leading Vinyl Debuts

While Twenty One Pilots achieves the most impressive debut on the Vinyl Albums chart, they settle for the third-highest entry on the Top Album Sales list. K-pop boy band Enhypen dominates the sales chart with its latest release, The Sin: Bliss, which also conquers the Billboard 200, marking the group’s first number-one position on that competitive tally.

A new self-titled project by Weezer—this time associated with the color gold—launches one position ahead of More Than We Ever Imagined on the sales chart.
