ISLAMABAD: Two Pakistani designers have been recognized in Business of Fashion’s influential BoF 500 2026 index, joining an elite group of international fashion leaders alongside established member Faraz Manan, the publication has announced.

The BoF 500 honors individuals driving transformation in fashion through innovative design, strategic business acumen, and cultural influence. Selected after a rigorous process of nominations, research, and interviews by BoF’s editorial team, the list now includes 1,713 global members, with 100 new additions this year across diverse categories such as fashion, retail, and media.

This recognition highlights divergent paths to global acclaim: Zain Ahmad’s Lahore-based label, Rastah, fuses traditional Pakistani textile techniques with contemporary streetwear, while Faraz Manan’s luxury fashion house specializes in opulent bridal and formal wear tailored for South Asian and Middle Eastern audiences. Manan was previously honored in the 2024 edition of the list.

Rastah’s success stems from its commitment to ethical craftsmanship, leveraging heritage handlooms and block-printing methods to create globally resonant streetwear, BoF founder Imran Amed noted. The brand has earned endorsements from celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Timothée Chalamet, and Zayn Malik, contributing to its $2.2 million gross revenue in 2025 and profitability in the same year, according to Ahmad’s statements.

The label’s U.S. market now constitutes its largest revenue source, with 30% of clients hailing from non-South Asian backgrounds, underscoring its broad international appeal beyond the diaspora community.

Faraz Manan, founder and creative director of his eponymous luxury label, has cultivated an international following for his fusion of intricate embellishment and modern silhouettes. His Dubai boutique, opened in 2015, caters to both regional and diaspora clientele, including prominent Bollywood personalities, as documented in his BoF profile.

The BoF 500, established in 2013, evaluates recipients based on leadership, creativity, innovation, and social impact, emphasizing editorial curation over numerical metrics. Its global recognition serves as a benchmark for influence within the fashion industry.
