On July 14, the U.S. military confirmed it is conducting additional strikes against Iranian targets.
According to a social media announcement from U.S. Central Command, the operations commenced Tuesday afternoon Eastern Time.
The action follows Washington’s preparations to reimpose a naval blockade on Iranian shipping, prompted by Tehran’s declaration that it had shut the Strait of Hormuz.
Centcom stated that the blockade will take effect at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (20:00 GMT).
