The U.S. Embassy in Havana issued a health alert on Friday, warning of a “significant increase in diarrheal illness across Cuba” due to contaminated water and inadequate refrigeration.
The alert noted that recent cases have involved E. coli, norovirus, Shigella, and other gastrointestinal pathogens, and was posted on the embassy’s website and social‑media channels.
